Spring Training

Alright, so I know baseball may seem a bit wimpy in terms of sports (sorry, Chipper), but that shouldn't hinder our use of it in the fashion world.

From the cult classic 'A League Of Their Own' and our childhood classic 'Sandlot' to the summer regime of nosebleed tickets (Toronto's Loonie Tuesdays), hot dogs and beer, baseball has subtly played an integral role in the rounding of bases (or striking out). Just as Ralph Lauren continually ushers the equestrian uniform down the catwalks and into our closets, we can do the same with baseball:

Tight white pants with stripes up the side (Nikki Reed looked incredibly seductive wearing hers in Twilight); The 2-tone, 3-quarter length baseball shirts (available by the arm full at any thrift shop in North America); Wide-brimmed logo-hats (like the retro throw-backs the Blue Jays wore recently - they're sort of hipster, but what isn't these days?)

Spring is in the air and the school-year innings are coming to a close. Bases are loaded and we're trying to hit the exams out of the park. (If all of these baseball nods don't prove it's place in society, I don't know what will). Pick up some tight white pants - maybe they'll help you score...

And finally, Alexander Wang has eased casual comfort into the outside world - On and off the field, these sweatpants are perfect, either with bare feet or stacked pumps.
